We're on hour 5 and are only reaching the end of Ark's download (21gb). I understand that's only 7.2 gb but it was done drastically faster than Ark at that same amount.

I'm noticing too that Ark updating is straight out locking my Steam up, I downloaded and installed Yooka-Laylee and Ori and the Blind Forest 3.6 gb each in about 30-40 minutes. But my cpu usage is at 1% if that means anything. Okay so I'm not seeing a section for hard drive. External drives are -SLOW- and that's most likely the entire cause of it. If you're actually have ark on the external hard drive like I suggested in the other thread, then you'll just have to get used to this. If you're using a single mechanical hard drive for ark, it would do this. It's more than likely just your hard drive getting overloaded and waiting for it to catch up to handle downloading more of the update as it patches up ark. Is the hard drive getting slammed to 100% usage when the pauses happen? Ark updates have a big toll on the hard drive for updating. If the issue persists, then again exiting Ark, unsubscribing from all mods, then deleting your mod folder, clearing steam cache too, and then subscribing to mods you only intend to currently use would perhaps resolve the situation(though take time to redo of course).Originally posted by Impending Rentacle Tape:Open windows task manager and watch the utilization on your hard drive where you have ark installed.
